The effects which follow too constant and intense a concentration upon evil are always disastrous. Those who crusade, not for God in themselves, but against the devil in others, never succeed in making the world better, but leave it either as it was, or sometimes even perceptibly worse than it was, before the crusade began. By thinking primarily of evil we tend, however excellent our intentions, to create occasions for evil to manifest itself.

Babies are pure potential. You pick up a little baby and you’re amazed by how light it is, but you feel also that you’re holding the future, the earth and the sky, the sun and the moon, and all of it, everything, is brand new. Babies help us to put the changing world into perspective too. Changing the world has to wait, when it’s time to change the baby.

The world is a funny paper read backwards.
And that way it isn’t so funny.

You must be the change you wish to see in the world.

Seems to me it ain’t the world that’s so bad but what we’re doing to it. And all I’m saying is see what a wonderful world it would be if we only gave it a chance. Love, baby, love—that’s the secret. Yeeaaahhh. If lots more of us loved each other, we’d solve lots more problems. And then this world would be a gasser.

What we all need in this World is more encouragement—not less.

Though men now possess the power to dominate and exploit every corner of the natural world, nothing in that fact implies that they have the right or the need to do so.

In my case, saving the world was only a hobby.

This world may be only illusion—but it’s the only illusion we’ve got.
